About Us

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to provide a personal service to our community in the form of a centrally-located child drop in center with superior supervision for your children. The state-licensed facility and our certified personnel will provide a safe, entertaining, educational, and stimulating environment.

Child's Play will be closed on major holidays.

We would like to encourage the use of cash or checks whenever possible to offset the increased credit card fees. However, we do accept all cards. We want to thank you for your continued support.

Policies and Procedures:

Child's Play will offer direct care, supervision, guidance, and protection of children in our care. Caring interaction with children is essential. An assortment of activities will be offered in-house, including arts & crafts, reading centers, board games, interactive electronic learning devices, computers, video games, and movies rated for everyone. Play areas will be established appropriate for the different age groups from 18 months to 12 years old.

Reservations are not required, but are encouraged during expected busy days, especially Friday and Saturday evenings. There is a limited capacity and a one hour minimum charge for each child being dropped off at Child's Play.

Environment
To maintain a healthy environment at Child's Play, no child will be accepted who is running a fever, has a runny nose with colored discharge, or has any type of stomach virus.

Help us maintain a healthy environment free of germs or viruses as much as possible.

We like to wash our hands as much as possible.  If your child is feeling ill or is going to be absent because of a virus call our center and let us know. We can keep an eye out before any kind of outbreak can occur. If a child develops a fever, running nose with color, or some other concern arises the parent will be called to pick them up within the hour. Our staff is certified in CPR and First Aid.  If a minor injury should occur, our staff will administer first aid.  If a major injury occurs our staff will administer first aid, call 911 for assistance and contact the parents.  In both cases an Incident Report will be completed.

We do not administer medications and medications are not allowed in the backpack, including inhalers, sunscreen, and bug repellant.

Bathroom Training
During the challenging time of using the restroom by themselves, children will sometimes feel less confident using facilities outside of their homes. Please provide pull-ups, wipes, and change of clothes for these awkard moments in your child's life.

Medical
With our new Staff Caregivers, help us stay informed of any allergies or special circumstances your children might have. Bring us up to date on any new information. Every year we are required to update immunizations and medical records on your children. Please drop copies off at Child’s Play, email to childsplay@entouch.net , or fax them to 281-499-7067. Thank you for your help.

Current immunization records must be on file within the first month of registration at Child's Play. Annual registration, for processing and updating records, will be $30 per family.

Clothing and Personal Belongings
Please be sure that your child’s name is clearly marked on all cups, clothing, (especially jacket and sweaters). In the event of lost articles please notify us as soon as possible.  All children should arrive completely dressed in clothes, with shoes and socks, appropriate for messy activities, such as art and crafts and outside play.

We would like you to bring a change of clothing and a supply of diapers and wipes for the younger children.  Please bring a nap mat and/or sleeping bag for rest time that will fit neatly in their cubbies. Children are allowed to bring a soft toy or small blanket or pillow to be used at naptime or for security. Please leave all other toys at home.  Rest time can be sleep, or just quiet time with music, books, stories, computers, or toys.

Food
Parents are responsible for providing snacks and lunch for their children.  Child’s Play does have snacks, juice, and can order cheese pizza if the child is in need of lunch.  Parents will be obligated to reimburse the Center for the expenses incurred. Be aware Child's Play allows food to be brought in by parents for their children. At any time there may be tree nuts, peanuts, milk, soy, or other food products on the premises.

Record Keeping
For our record keeping in respect with Child Protective Services we must demand are records stay current.  Important information:

  1.  Updated and current immunizations on record
  2. Signed preschool health statement is required for children who are not in elementary school but attend your operation. The doctor can sign and date this box on page 2 of admission sheet or send a separate note via fax or send it with the parent.
  3. All allergies need to be on record.
  4. Signed authorizations by each child’s parent or guardian giving us the right to seek medical care if an emergency presents itself.  These forms contain vital contact information for the parents and doctors.  Please keep this information up to date.
  5. Signed Child’s Play policy and procedures
  6. Signed guidance and discipline sheet

Drop-off/Pickup
Child's Play requires all children to be signed in when dropped off and signed out at pickup. Each child will have a code word which will be used as authorization for the release of the child. Child's Play will have to be notified in advance if any other individual will be picking up your children.

Remember, Child’s Play is a Drop In Center.  We do accept children between the hours of 9am and 10pm during the week and 9am to midnight Friday and Saturday. When a child is dropped off between 9am and 2pm Monday through Thursday we will incorporate them into our Pre-School activities.  The regular rates will apply.

Regulations
State licensing code 746.145 limits child care to no more than 5 consecutive days or more than 15 days/month.

Fees
Late pick-up charges of $2.00 per minute will apply anytime a child is picked up after Child Play's posted open hours.

A $45.00 legal processing fee will be charged on all returned checks.
